Dickie V Eats Fusilli, Cries Like a Baby

Dick Vitale is a basketball icon and legend and now the man most famous for being a spokesperson for DiGiorno (it's not delivery...it's mediocre frozen pizza!) is being honored and enshrined into two distinct basketball halls of fame. On Monday's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" radio show on ESPN Radio, Vitale announced first that his pasta of choice is undoubtedly FUSILLI, and that he will be inducted to the James A. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as well as the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2008. Vitale, an iron horse, had not missed calling a game for ESPN in 29 years until this season, when he missed two months as a result of vocal cord surgery. He returned on February 6th to call his favorite game on earth - Duke vs. North Carolina. If there is one person out there who is completely and utterly upsessed and biased towards the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), that man is Dickie V.

Upon announcing his accomplishments to Greenie and Golic over the air, Vitale began sobbing like an eight-year-old girl and blowing heavy amounts of snot and mucus into his hanky. "It really is Awesome, baby, with a capital A! Almost as awesome as Digger Phelps and his highlighter matching his tie. I mean c'mon, what an enormous loser!"
